I marvel every time I see a commercial with preschool children.

I can't help but wonder:

How many "takes" did it take them to get that kid to perform on cue?

That question nags at me ... especially now that Charlie is talking ... when he feels like it.

The kid's a genius at it, of course! Doesn't even have to remove the "foo-foo" from his mouth to make himself clear ... when he feels like it.

At almost age 1 1/2, Charlie will rattle off entire sentences ... when he feels like it.

(I work on trying to get him to say stuff like: Feed me! and Yum, yum, eat 'em up, eat 'me up!  However, so far I find his most endearing phrase is the one, when I first arrive for a visit, he yells if I walk past him without picking him up: "Hey!" )

So....
On  another beautiful day, as Lara got him ready to go outside....

...while Taylor fooled around with a bottle intended now for one of her dolls, ...

We tried to get Charlie to say his newest word:

sandals.

After some serious thinking....
He pattycakes 'cause he's almost got it!.
Then he gets this silly grin on his face....

Looks directly at me while he points at his feet and says,
"Tennis shoes."

Gotta love him! A fantastic sense of humor already!
